Nigerian business mogul Aliko Dangote has accepted an invitation by content creator Adebayo Ridwan, popularly known as Isbae U, to feature on his podcast, “Curiosity Made Me Ask.”

In a viral online video, Mr Dangote was seen accepting the invitation  during a recent interaction with Nigerian creatives at the Dangote Refinery in Lagos.

Isbae U had appealed to the businessman to engage younger audiences through digital platforms.

He said many of Mr Dangote’s previous interviews were conducted on platforms that younger Nigerians rarely watched, despite their interest in his businesses and investment opportunities.

“Most of the interviews we’ve seen you on are platforms that my generation don’t watch,” the content creator said.

He said young Nigerians were interested in investing in Dangote’s businesses.

Responding, Mr Dangote acknowledged the importance of reaching younger audiences, describing the youth as the future of Nigeria and Africa.

“Honestly, the future that we have is actually you, the youth. Our own generation has not really done very well for Nigeria and also for Africa. That’s the truth,” he said.

The industrialist said interaction between older and younger generations was necessary to share experiences and promote understanding about Nigeria’s development.

“So we need to sit down with some of you and discuss our own experience with you,” Mr Dangote said.

He said he wanted the conversation to be informal and open, allowing young people to ask questions about his journey and how he achieved success.

“I would like to sit down. I would like to share my ideas. I want it to be a very free something where people can ask me questions: How did I get here?” he said.

Mr Dangote said the interaction would also demonstrate the importance of humility and simplicity in life.

“Which is good, and also to show people that in life you have to be as simple as you can, because anybody can be anybody.

“So really, you are right. Going forward, this sort of audience is what somebody like me should actually face,” he said.

However, no specific date was announced for Mr Dangote’s appearance on the programme.

During the exchange, Isbae U referred to his interview with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying it provided the former leader an opportunity to reach younger Nigerians.

Curiosity Made Me Ask, a satirical interview and ‘roast show,’ has featured prominent Nigerians, including Obasanjo, veteran actor Pete Edochie and actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD.
