The police command in Bauchi State has arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered 138 wraps of suspected Indian hemp and Colorado, among others, in the Mararaban Liman Katagum area of the state.

In a statement on Thursday, Nafiu Habib, the command’s spokesman, said the police acted on credible intelligence and arrested two suspected drug dealers on Wednesday at about 5:00 p.m.

He said police stormed Mararaban Liman Katagum and arrested one Dahiru Muhammad, 29, of the same address.

“A search conducted on the premises led to the recovery of one hundred and twenty-four (124) wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, twelve (12) pieces of 100mg Tramadol tablets and fifty (50) pieces of Exzol tablets,” Mr Habib said.

He explained that a preliminary investigation revealed that the exhibits belong to one ‘G-Man’ who is currently at large.

According to him, on the same date at about 9:00 p.m., operatives arrested Victor Godwin ‘M’, 31, of the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi, in possession of 14 sachets and some quantity of dry leaves suspected to be Colorado and Indian hemp, which he was allegedly selling.

Mr Habib said efforts were being intensified to trace and arrest the fleeing accomplice and the supply chain.

He added that suspects in custody would be charged in court after a discreet investigation.
