Kenya Building Collapse: 66 of 67 construction workers accounted for, says Red Cross

At least 66 of the 67 construction workers on site have been traced and accounted for as rescue efforts continue following the collapse of a multi-storey building in Eastleigh, Nairobi, Kenya, on Friday.
The Red Cross confirmed this development on Saturday, stating that search and rescue operations were continuing at the site of the building collapse along Yusuf Haji Avenue in Eastleigh.
“66 of the 67 construction workers on site have been traced and accounted for. The search continues for anyone who may have been in or near the building,” the Red Cross said.
It added, “Our teams remain on site with multi-agency partners. If you are looking for a loved one, please visit the tracing desk at the site or call our toll-free line 1199.”
Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson visited the scene on Friday, vowing that the circumstances surrounding the building collapse would be investigated.
