Carabao Cup: League Two’s Fleetwood Town humiliate Arsenal

Fleetwood Town pulled off one of the biggest shocks of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, knocking Arsenal out of the competition.
Fleetwood Town, two points above the League Two relegation zone, advanced to the quarter-finals by winning 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
The match had a seven-minute delay 90 seconds into the first half when referee Michael Salibsury, noticed a drone hovering over Highbury Stadium, London, and suspended play. He later restarted the match after the drone flew off.
The last season’s finalists fielded some first-team players, mixed with others from the academy, while others started from the bench.
Arsenal conceded in the 21st minute, when Aaron Loupalo-Bi outmuscled Arsenal’s Marli Salmon before slotting it home past goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
Victor Gyokeres bundled the ball home five minutes into the second half to level the scoreline.
The match also saw Arsenal’s teenage sensation, Max Dowman, shown a straight red card for kicking Fleetwood Town’s Harrison Neal.
With both sides failing to break the deadlock after 90 minutes and added time, the match went straight to a penalty shoot-out.
Each player from both teams scored from the spot until Arsenal’s Bruno Guimaraes saw his penalty saved by Fleetwood goalkeeper Jay Lynch, before Conor Haughey blasted home the last penalty kick, sending the home team and fans into jubilation.
