Police nab three alleged kidnappers in Kwara

The police command in Kwara says it arrested three suspects linked to several abductions in the state.
In a statement on Tuesday, the command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the arrest was made in a joint operation with forest guards.
She said a team of forest guards led by Jebrin Adam arrested Aliyu Isiaka of Ga’a-Kpapa village, Moro area, on Saturday at about 6:00 p.m. at Okolowo, Ilorin.
“The suspect was intercepted while disguised in female attire, wearing a hijab and carrying a polythene bag containing assorted charms,” Ms Ejire-Adeyemi said.
According to her, during the interrogation, the suspect confessed to being a member of a nine-man kidnapping syndicate allegedly led by a suspect, Juli, of Fulani Camp, Ga’a-Kpapa, who is at large.
“He disclosed that he was recruited into the gang sometime in August 2026 and had actively participated in three kidnapping operations at Oloru, Alapa and Malete, where substantial ransom payments were collected,” she said.
The operation at the suspected kidnappers’ camp was carried out on Sunday.
“The operation led to the arrest of two additional male suspects, named Seriki and Jebrin, bringing the total number of persons apprehended to three (3),” Ms Ejire-Adeyemi stated.
