Some casualties were on Tuesday rushed to a hospital following a multiple vehicle crash on Tuesday, along the Apapa Oshodi Expressway, Lagos State.

The state Traffic Management Authority, in a statement on X, blamed brake failure for the auto crash involving a Hilux van, patrol van, truck, and a Toyota car.

LASTMA said, “A multiple accident occasioned by mechanical fault/brake failure involving a Hilux van,  a containerized heavy-duty truck, a patrol van, and a Toyota car, occurred at Cele Express inward Mile 2 along the Apapa Oshodi Expressway, resulting in unconfirmed number of casualties who have been rushed to the hospital.”

The agency stated that the impact of the accident on traffic was currently serious, adding that LASTMA officers were already at strategic points around the accident scene to advise and divert motorists to safe corridors to avoid further casualties.

LASTMA warned motorists to drive cautiously at all times.
