NDC inaugurates state campaign council in Anambra

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), on Wednesday, inaugurated its national campaign council in Anambra in Awka.
Ifeanyi Ibezi and Innocent Egwuoba are the coordinator and deputy coordinator, respectively, while Paulinus Akabogu will serve as secretary of the council.
Also inaugurated by Ikem Uzoezie, NDC chairman in Anambra, who is also a member of the council, were Kingsley Nwafor, South Senatorial zone coordinator; Chuka Ezenwunne, Central Senatorial zone coordinator and Chigbo Enwezor, North Senatorial zone coordinator.
The council also includes all serving elected officials, all senatorial, House of Representatives and state assembly candidates, among other directorates.
Addressing the council, Mr Uzoezie congratulated the members and charged them to give the campaign their best.
He expressed confidence in their ability to deliver NDC candidates across all contested positions in Anambra.
He said the target was to give its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, upwards of 1.5 million votes and ensure that every NDC candidate was elected.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Ibezi said they would work towards making Anambra an NDC-controlled state.
He said the NDC was unfazed by the attack on its presidential candidate, Obi, describing it as a divine project and adding that attacks on him would not distract them from the issues.
“We have a huge task but we are happy that we are marketing the best products in this election.
“We are not worried by the negative campaigns going on against our candidates here in Anambra, we are determined to take over this state, we are democrats,” he said.
Some stakeholders of the party, including Afam Ogene, member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency, attended the event and delivered goodwill messages.
