PDP tackles Gov Diri for snubbing Tinubu in APC campaign billboards

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa has criticised Governor Douye Diri for omitting President Bola Tinubu’s photograph from the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign billboards.
The party accused Mr Diri of being reluctant to identify with Mr Tinubu’s re-election campaign despite defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
PDP publicity secretary, Ikaebimo Mark, made the allegation in a statement on Saturday in Yenagoa.
“When we said that Governor Douye Diri was not supporting President Bola Tinubu, we knew exactly what we were saying,” he said.
Mr Mark said several APC campaign billboards across the state capital urged voters to support the party’s National Assembly and State House of Assembly candidates.
He noted, however, that the billboards did not feature Tinubu’s photograph.
Mr Mark described the omission as evidence that Mr Diri was not fully aligned with the APC’s national leadership and its position on Mr Tinubu’s re-election.
“Now, Governor Diri has erected APC campaign billboards across Bayelsa without Tinubu’s photograph. He is even afraid to associate himself with the photograph of the presidential candidate of his own party.
“How can this governor claim to be supporting President Tinubu?” Mr Mark asked.
