Accident victims hospitalised after two buses collide in Lagos

Some accident victims are currently receiving medical attention after a commercial bus suffered brake failure and crashed into another vehicle at Ileepo, Lagos State.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in a statement on X on Sunday, said the vehicle plunged into the opposite lane before ramming into a Coaster bus.
LASTMA said, “A commercial bus reportedly suffered brake failure at Ileepo and plunged into the other side of the road ramming into a Coaster bus going inward Abule Egba.
“Casualties have been taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention.”
The agency stated that, as a result of the accident, a traffic backlog had extended to the Ileepo pedestrian bridge.
LASTMA, however, stated that efforts were underway to evacuate both vehicles while its officers managed the traffic situation.
In a subsequent update later in the day, the agency said normalcy had been restored on the road and the crashed vehicles had been evacuated.
