The U.S. president’s brazen disclaimer could signal a readiness to grudgingly accept the outcome of the election.

U.S. President Donald Trump has admitted that Joe Biden of the Democratic Party won the just concluded US presidential election.

Mr. Trump, who has refused to concede defeat since Mr. Biden crossed the 270 electoral college requirement, said Biden won because the election was rigged.

“He won because the Election was Rigged,” Mr. Trump said via a tweet on Sunday. Further alleged that election observers were not allowed to witness the vote counting tabulated by “a Radical Left privately owned company” which has “a bad reputation and bum equipment.”

Mr. Trump also accused the media of being “fake and silent.”

The president’s tacit disclaimer could signal a grudging readiness to accept the outcome of an election that has been long called for Mr. Biden and also allay fears that Mr. Trump was working to truncate the smooth transition of power to Mr. Biden in January 2021.

Mr. Biden, 77, will be America’s 46th president, as well as the oldest person to serve as the American president when he assumes office next year January.
