#EndSARS: GoKada rider arrested for holding Nigerian flag

A GoKada dispatch rider identified as Saintus Ugochukwu Ugwu has been arrested and his bike seized by officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos for displaying the Nigerian flag on his motorcycle.
Narrating his ordeal to Peoples Gazette inside the police Black Maria, Saintus Ugwu said he was apprehended while riding through the Lekki Toll Gate with the Nigerian flag attached to his motorcycle.
“My name is Saintus Ugochukwu Ugwu, GP 1568. Please give this to GoKada rider to help me call GoKada support,” Mr Ugwu wrote in a rough paper squeezed through vent of the police van where he was being held to The Gazette’s reporter at the toll gate.
Mr Ugwu also told The Gazette that his bike has also been taken away by the police operatives.
Activists holding #EndSARSMemorial converged at the Lekki Toll Gate Wednesday morning to mark one year anniversary of the unfortunate shooting of #EndSARS protesters by the army. Many lives were lost during the firing but the Buhari regime continue to deny fatalities.
The Lagos police commissioner Hakeem Odumosu had beforehand issued an illegal warning against any form of protest in honour of EndSARS victims.
The Gazette could not immediately obtain comments from GoKada as calls made to their phone lines did not connect and sent emails received no response.
