Fraud: Witness presents 51,934-paged document extracted from Naira Marley’s phone

About 52,000 pages of document was presented before the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court by a witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against singer Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley.
Naira Marley, alongside another artist Zlatan and others, is being prosecuted for charges bordering on fraud, conspiracy and possession of counterfeit credit cards.
The content of a compact disc that contains 51,934 pages of analysis from the “I am coming” crooner’s iPhone was virtually displayed in court on Wednesday.
First arrested on May 20, 2020, Naira Marley was granted bail after pleading not guilty to charges preferred against him. His trial commenced thereafter but was stalled due to COVID-19 lockdown.
At the continued hearing on Wednesday, EFCC witness Augustine Anosike told the court that based on his analysis, various text messages and chats containing credit card details were exchanged between Naira Marley and another man identified as Mr Yadd, NAN reports.
Under cross examination by defence counsel Olalekan Ojo, Mr Anosike said could not affirm whether Naira Marley personally carried out the activities contained in the witness’ analysis through his phone.
“As an experienced operative, are you aware that it is possible for a person other than the owner of a phone to have access to the use of that phone?” Mr Ojo queried.
“That will only be possible where the owner grants access,” the witness replied.
The case has been adjourned till November 30, December 13 and December 14 respectively.
