Man in court for beating, tearing four policemen uniforms in Ogun

A 32-year-old man, Malik Oluwatobi, on Tuesday appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun of assaulting four police officers in the state.
The police command in the state is accusing Mr Oluwatobi of assault and breach of peace.
Police prosecutor, E.O Adaraloye, told the court the defendant assaulted Adesoye Aduratayo, attacked Sokunbi Seun, Sodiya Ajani and Oguntoyinbo Femi.
The command said Mr Oluwatobi conducted himself in a manner likely to breach the peace by obstructing the policemen and engaging them in a physical fight.
Mr Adaraloye said the offence was committed on November 6 at about 2:13 p.m., under the bridge in Sango-Ota, while the officers performed their duty.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted the sum of N50,000 bail with one surety in like sum by the Magistrate, A.O.Adeyemi.
Mrs Adeyemi directed that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun government.
The case was adjourned until November 19 for further hearing.
