Neuer hypes Chelsea’s Senegalese shot-stopper

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy’s fine start in English football has now received high recognition from one of world’s best goalies and Bayern Munich great, Manuel Neuer.
Mendy who is enjoying an electric form in the Premiership since his £20 million move from Rennes was described as “world-class” by the Bayern Munich stopper who has won virtually everything in football.
Neuer, a World Cup winner, told talksport that Mendy may be up there with the very best goalkeepers in the world given his excellent form.
“There are a lot of world class goalies right now. For example, Edouard Mendy, who moved from Rennes to Chelsea,” Neuer said. “He is a player that we only saw in Ligue 1, who joined a big club and who was immediately successful. It’s great to see that.”
Mendy has been a revelation so far since his summer arrival in west London. He has kept nine clean sheets in his opening 13 matches as a Blues player, helping Frank Lampard’s side to the top spot in their Champions League group with a game to spare for the next round.
Chelsea enjoyed a short stay atop the Premier League with Saturday’s win against longtime rivals, Leeds United.
Impressively, the Senegal international goalkeeper has the best record of any Premier League or Champions League goalkeeper this season.
