Imo-born Zamfara commissioner resigns to take up appointment with Gov. Uzodinma

Mrs Shinkafi will take up appointment as a commissioner in Imo after resigning from Zamfara.

• December 23, 2021

Rabi Ibrahim Shinkafi, the Zamfara State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, has resigned her appointment to take up another commissionership appointment in Imo.

In a December 2014 interview with Tambari, a lifestyle magazine published by Daily Trust, Mrs Shinkafi said is the daughter of Stephen Aruwuonye, of an Ejemekuru chief in Uguata Local Government Area of Imo. She was however born in Birni Kebbi and raised by a Gwandu Emirate chief, Sarkin Shanun Gwandu.

She is married to Ibrahim Bakon Gwaggo, the Majidadi of Shinkafi, Zamfara.

“I resigned my appointment as commissioner in Zamfara to enable me to pick another appointment as commissioner in Imo,’’ Mrs Shinkafi said on Thursday.

“I am immensely grateful to Governor Bello Matawalle and his Wife, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle, for their kindness to me and for giving me the opportunity to serve Zamfara in different capacities.

“All the speculations in the social media about my resignation are completely false; it was just the work of mischief makers,’’ she said.

“I have a perfect and cordial relationship with the governor and his wife. I consider them as my family and they were in the picture of my going to Imo.

“Both Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo and Matawalle discussed it as fellow All Progressives Congress governors and as friends too,’’ Mrs Shinkafi added.
