Governor Obaseki wins second term in Edo state
INEC has declared PDP candidate Godwin Obaseki winner of the Edo governorship election, which was held on Saturday.
Governor Obaseki won 307,955 votes to defeat his main opponent and the APC candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who scored 223,619 votes.
14 candidates contested and 557,443 people voted in the election.
Obaseki won in 13 of the 18 LGAs in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that at least two INEC officials were injured during the election.
