Teams with less than 11 COVID-19 negative players to lose match: CAF

Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Saturday says any team without 11 players who are COVID-19 negative will be worked over during the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition.
This was disclosed on CAF website on Saturday, a day to the kickoff of the 33rd edition of the AFCON.
“A team will be required to play a match if they have a minimum of eleven (11) players available who have tested negative,” CAF said.
The football governing body added that “A team that does not have a minimum of eleven (11) players available will be considered to have lost the match 0-2.”
This development could favour teams without COVID19 infections, while ruining the chances of other teams ravaged by the deadly virus.
