Kaduna govt donates relief materials to 11 communities attacked by gunmen

Gunmen had attacked communities in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna, displacing some residents.

Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) has donated relief materials to victims of gunmen attacks in some communities in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.

Executive Secretary of the agency, Muhammed Mukaddas, presented the items to the Sole Administrator of the local government, Umma Ahmed, for onward distribution to the internally-displaced persons (IDPs) in the council area.

Other relief materials included 70 bags of rice, 70 bags of garri, 30 bags of beans, five bags of sugar, and five bags of salt.

Also, five cartons of soap, five packets of diapers, 30 pieces of mattresses, 50 bales of blankets were distributed to victims.

Mr Mukaddas, who on behalf of Governor Nasir el-Rufai, commiserated with the people of Birnin Gwari, said the donation was to ameliorate the sufferings of the displaced persons.

He identified the affected communities as: Unguwan Fari, Unguwan Kwambe, Unguwan Ayango, Kwabu, Rema, Bugai, Gaman Dagi, Gagara I, Gagara II, Tofa and Sabon Gida.

The SEMA boss explained that the displaced persons were currently being temporarily sheltered at UBE Danzuru, Tudun Jega Primary School, and other communities within Birnin Gwari town.

Mrs Ahmed, while receiving the materials, commended the state government for the intervention.

The sole administrator assured the agency that the materials would promptly be distributed to the affected victims.
