Nigeria to see sun, haze for three days: NiMet

NiMet’s weather outlook released on Wednesday in Abuja predicted sunny and hazy atmosphere on Thursday over the northern region.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted a sunny and hazy atmosphere from Thursday to Saturday.

NiMet’s weather outlook released on Wednesday in Abuja predicted sunny and hazy atmosphere on Thursday over the northern region throughout the forecast period.

According to the forecast, hazy skies with few patches of cloud are expected over the North-Central region and the inland cities of the South within the forecast period.

NiMet also predicted patches of clouds over the coastal cities of the South during the morning hours.

It, however, anticipated isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ondo, Ogun, Edo, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Osun and Cross River state during the afternoon and evening hours.

“For Friday, sunny and hazy atmosphere is expected over the northern region and the North central region during the forecast period.

“Hazy skies with few patches of cloud are expected over the inland and coastal cities of the South during the morning hours.

“However, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Cross River state during the afternoon and evening hours,” it said.

The agency envisaged moderate dust haze on Saturday with horizontal visibility values ranging from 2,000m to 5,000m over the northern region.

According to it, sunny and hazy conditions are expected over the North-Central region within the forecast period.

NiMet predicted hazy skies with few patches of cloud over the inland and the coastal cities of the South within the forecast period.

“However, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Rivers, Lagos, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states during the afternoon and evening hours,” it said.
