Alaafin invokes Yoruba ancestors for Tinubu presidency

A paramount ruler in Yorubaland, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, has summoned the help of his progenitors to assist Bola Tinubu become Nigeria’s president in 2023.
Mr Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo, offered his prayers when the former Lagos governor and APC chieftain called at his palace in the ancient Oyo town on Sunday.
“All you the chiefs and traditional rulers, you have heard what our visitor said. He said our prayers are needed,” the traditional ruler told his chiefs.
“All the ancestors in Yorubaland, get up and assist your son,” the Alaafin then invoked.
Mr Tinubu has been traveling around the country to seek the buy-in of political, religious and traditional leaders for his presidency project which he described as “lifelong ambition”
Mr Adeyemi expressed confidence that the Yoruba ancestors would make Mr Tinubu become the nation’s president in 2023.
“If I check my list now, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the first presidential aspirant to visit me,” he noted.
Earlier, Mr Tinubu said at the palace that his visit to the traditional ruler was to seek his blessing, cooperation and prayers on his ambition.
“All I came for today is to seek your blessing, cooperation and prayers for me to become the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.
