The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State for appointing Senator Hassan Nasiha as his new deputy.

A statement by the state APC publicity secretary, Yusuf Idris, on Thursday in Gusau, said Mr Matawalle has always done the right thing to move the state forward.

“No amount of pressure or destructive tendencies will stop him from doing the right thing in order to move the state to the Promised Land,” Mr Idris said.

While congratulating Mr Nasiha on his inauguration, he said the APC was determined to work closely with the state executive and legislature to ensure the development of the state.

“The APC strongly believes and appreciates Matawalle’s leadership strategy in rebuilding the state.

“APC leadership in the state has confidence in the ability of Matawalle to change the narrative of the political sector of the state,” Mr Idris said.

Mr Matawalle had in a letter signed by Secretary to the State Government, Kabiru Balarabe, and read at Wednesday’s plenary by Speaker Nasiru Magarya, nominated Mr Nasiha as the new deputy governor after the impeachment of Mahdi Aliyu from office.
