Police find corpse of suspected robber in Bauchi

Police in Bauchi have found a corpse of a suspected armed robber and recovered 18 handsets and five laptops among others items from him at Wuntin Dada, a suburb of the town.
Ahmed Wakil, spokesperson for the Police Command in Bauchi, confirmed this on Friday.
Mr Wakil said the command received information on Thursday that armed men numbering seven had stormed students’ apartment at Wuntin Dada on the Jos-Bauchi Road.
He said that while chasing the armed men, operatives found the corpse, suspected to be among them lying in his pool of blood
“He was evacuated to ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi, where the medical doctor confirmed him dead,” the police spokesperson said.
Mr Wakil listed other items recovered from the corpse as six audio MP3 players, two face-caps, four pairs of shoes, four wrist watches, one hat and one torchlight.
He said the corpse had been taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
