Boy arraigned for defiling eight-year-old girl

A 15-year-old boy was on Thursday arraigned in the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for defiling an eight-year-old girl.
The police charged the teenager with defilement and sexual assault.
Prosecution counsel ASP Akpan Nko told the court that the minor committed the offence on February 9, at No. 7, Oladejo Street, Off Mercy Street, Araromi, Badagry area of Lagos.
Mr Nko said the boy also sexually assaulted the victim. He said the girl’s mother reported the matter at a police station.
The prosecutor added that the offence contravened sections 137, 170, and 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomiya admitted the minor to bail of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum. Mr Adekomiya ordered one of the sureties must be the minor’s father.
He adjourned the case until March 28 for a hearing.
