Louis Van Gaal reveals he is suffering from cancer

Former Manchester United and Ajax manager, Louis Van Gaal, Sunday night revealed that he is presently suffering from prostate cancer.
The Dutchman, who presently manages the Netherlands national team having come out of retirement late last year, revealed the shocking news on a national TV show on Sunday night.
The 70-year old tactician was on TV duties promoting his new show titled “LOUIS” where details of his cancer are discussed. He revealed that he has known about it for a prolonged time and had received treatment 25 times.
He also revealed how difficult it was to hide it from his players whilst being manager of the national team. He had to slip away from team hotels many times to go see a doctor.
“I didn’t want to tell it to my players because it could have influenced their performances,” Van Gaal said.
“I have a lot of discipline and willpower. I can do the job because.. I like it. I like to work with this squad. This is a present for me at a late age, this is how I see it.”
The legendary manager will be preparing to lead his charges at the forthcoming World Cup in Qatar. Netherlands have been paired with African champions Senegal, hosts Qatar, and Ecuador.
