Army committed to combating insecurity, COAS assures Nigerians

The Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya, has assured Nigerians of the military’s commitment to crushing terrorists across the country.
“We want to further assure Mr President and Nigerians our commitment to defeat the enemies in all theatres of operations,” he said.
Mr Yahaya spoke while inspecting a cache of high calibre ammunition recovered in Sambisa Forest by the troops under the “Operation Desert Sanity,” on Tuesday in Maiduguri.
He hailed the troops of the North-East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) for the successes recorded against remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents in the region.
The army chief said he was highly elated with what he saw and urged the troops to do more.
“I am very impressed with the commitment and zeal I am seeing in the theatre and indeed in all other areas of operations,” he said.
He reiterated that the military would not be deter from discharging its responsibilities to get rid of the terrorists hibernating in the region.
While commending President Muhammadu Buhari for his support to the military, Mr Yahaya urged the insurgents in the bush to surrender before it’s too late.
“I want to thank Mr President and appreciate him for all the support he has given us. He has given us all we required within the limited resources available,” he said.
