FG declares Friday, Monday as Easter holidays

The federal government has announced Friday, April 15 and Monday, April 18 as public holidays to mark the Easter celebration.
In a statement signed on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, permanent secretary of the ministry, Shuaib Beglore, urged Christians to emulate the attributes of Jesus.
Mr Aregbesola urged for sacrifice, togetherness, forgiveness, kindness, love, peace, and patience as exemplified by Jesus while on earth.
He asked Christians to pray for an end to the country’s security challenges and join hands with the Buhari regime to strengthen Nigeria’s security.
The minister said since security was everybody’s business, “Nigerians and foreigners resident in our country” must display a high sense of citizenship and public-spiritedness at this critical time.
According to him, both citizens and foreigners must support the “security agencies in bringing peace and security of lives and property of the citizenry.
While wishing Christians a peaceful Easter celebration, Mr Aregbesola called on Nigerians to support the Buhari-led regime to bring in “development and usher in prosperity for all.”
