Alaafin was reconciling Tinubu and I before he died: Aregbesola

Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola says the deceased Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, was working to resolve the political fallout between himself and his leader, former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu but could not finish before his death.
Mr Adeyemi died on Friday aged 83 after a brief illness.
Mr Aregbesola disclosed this in a statement he released mourning the death of the top monarch.
“He (Late Oba Adeyemi) was a major player in the effort to settle the rift between me and my principal (referring to Mr Tinubu) and he was still working on it till he passed on,” he said.
In February, tension became heated between the duo following Mr Aregbesola’s preference of Mosood Adeoti over Mr Tinubu’s anointed incumbent Gboyega Oyetola.
Mr Aregbesola threw several offensives at Mr Tinubu’s camp including shading him as urinating on his body. At the conclusion of the primary, Mr Oyetola floored Mr Adeoti, winning his second term ticket under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This defeat prompted Mr Aregbesola to soften grounds for reconciliation between him and his estranged principal.
