Osimhen instrumental as Napoli thrash Sassuolo to revive Scudetto dreams

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored a goal and provided an assist to help Napoli to a 6-1 victory at home to Sassuolo, a result that ensured the Partonopei remained within touching distance of Milan and Inter in the race for the Scudetto.
Senegal’s Khalidou Koulibaly opened the scoring for Napoli in the 7th minute off a Lorenzo Insigne assist before same Insigne assisted Osimhen for the second goal of the game at the quarter-hour mark.
Osimhen would later go ahead to assist Hirving Lozano, after which Dries Mertens ensured it was 4-0 heading into the half-time break.
Dries Mertens scored again in the second half before Rrahmani made it six for the home side. The clean sheet was not to be, though, as Lopez scored a consolation goal for Sassuolo in the 87th minute.
Napoli have now won for the first time since the start of April, having lost to Fiorentina and Empoli and drawn at home to AS Roma.
