Enugu FA Cup: Immaculate Queens beat Green Foot Queens 3-0

Immaculate Queens FC on Wednesday defeated Green Foot FC 3-0 after a penalty shootout which followed a goalless full-time in the semi-finals of the Enugu State Women FA Cup competition.
In the match played at the Rangers International FC training pitch, Immaculate Queens FC kept Green Foot FC at bay throughout.
The competition is in a knockout format, with the winners representing the state at the national competition known as the Aiteo Cup.
Immaculate Queens FC are made up of students of the football team of Queens School in Enugu who lost narrowly to FC Joyt Queens of Igbo-Etiti in the 2021 edition.
With the win, Immaculates Queens will now face FC Joyt Queen on Friday to determine the state champions.
Speaking after the match, Immaculate Queens’ captain, Chika Godwin, said she was happy to have captained her team to victory.
“We trained hard for this match and thank God we won as it will give us the morale to face our next opponents squarely,” said Godwin. “The match was a good one and we are going home to strategise for the match against FC Joyt, and with determination we will beat them.”
Godwin expressed confidence that they could go on to do well at the national competition if they qualified.
