18 Kano traders abducted in Kogi

About 18 traders of Kantin Kwari textile market, Kano were kidnapped along Lokoja-Okene road while on a business trip to Abia State.
“The victims, all from the popular Kantin Kwari textile market, were traveling to Aba in Abia state to buy goods when their vehicle was attacked by the gunmen and they were taken to the bush,” Daily Trust reported on Thursday.
Abba Bello, Managing Director of Kantin Kwari Market Management Board, confirmed the abduction of the 18 traders to the news outlet.
“They were all traveling to Aba in Abia state when the gunmen attacked them along Lokoja-Okene expressway in Kogi state. “People are saying the victims are up to 20 or even more, but from what we can confirm so far, they are 18,” Mr. Bello said.
The kidnappers are demanding the sum of N27million as ransom for the abducted traders.
