ADC senatorial candidate seeks support for Atiku, Babba-Kaita in Katsina

The senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Daura Zone in Katsina, Sani Garki, has kicked off his campaign for the 2027 elections, promising quality representation.

Mr Garki was joined by other ADC candidates contesting various seats at the inaugural campaign in Daura on Saturday.

Mr Garki said that if elected, his doors would remain open to constituents, assuring them of regular engagement and cooperation.

He urged the people to vote for all ADC candidates so that they could work hand in hand to promote development and advance the interests of Daura Zone.

Mr Garki thanked the leadership of the ADC for giving him the opportunity to contest under the platform of the party to serve his people.

The senatorial candidate also called for maximum support for the ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s governorship candidate in Katsina State, Ahmad Babba-Kaita.

Mr Garki said the promises made by Mr Abubakar would be fulfilled if he were elected president of the country.

“Our president, when he comes into power, will reverse the fuel subsidy and reopen the borders for businesses to progress,” he said.

Mr Garki described Mr Babba-Kaita’s leadership style as people-oriented and urged party supporters to vote for him as governor for positive change.

Earlier, Mr Babba-Kaita, who was represented by his running mate, Ahmad Yar’adua, appealed to party members to support all the party’s candidates.

Mr Yar’adua said Kaita would double his performance and surpass the achievements of previous administrations if elected governor of the state.

Also speaking, the ADC state chairman, Lawal Batagarawa, who was represented by the deputy state chairman, retired Brig.-Gen. Maharazu Tsiga, said the party was in the state on a rescue mission.

“We are here for a rescue mission and for the betterment of our zone, state, and the whole country,” Mr Tsiga said.

Mr Tsiga urged the party faithful to vote for all ADC candidates, defend their votes, and ensure that every vote cast for the party counted during the elections.
