Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress has been sworn in as Nigeria’s 16th president.
“I didn’t start this race hoping it will be over in a year. We are in a battle with an entrenched establishment. We are in a long battle.”
“The electoral management body shares more than 60 per cent of the blame. Because if they do their work well, the politicians will have no choice but to follow the rules.”
Mr Tinubu, 71, will succeed President Muhammadu Buhari for a tenure of four years after taking oath of office on May 29.
In a recent interview with the BBC, however, Mr Shehu, who served as Mr Buhari’s spokesman for eight years, said he regrets his statements on the killing of the Borno rice farmers.
Mr Tinubu was on March 1 declared winner of the February 25th presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and would be sworn in on May 29.
Angered by Mr Muhammed’s criticism, Mrs Buhari unleashed the State Security Service (SSS) to arrest and illegally detain him for several weeks.
“Consequently, we have the highest number of out-of-school children and the highest number of infant mortality,” Mr Obi said.
The Bavarians narrowly won the title this season, edging Borussia Dortmund on goal difference.
“So, as we look at Nigeria’s debt profile, I urge us to also look at the assets and investment profiles, some of which was paid for by debt and some by investment income.”
