BEDC commends appointment of Idia Ize-Iyamu as UBTH’s first female CMD

He said her success reaffirmed that gender was no barrier to excellence or commitment to public service.

Management of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company Plc (BEDC), on Sunday, commended the federal government  for appointing Idia Ize-Iyamu as Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

BEDC’s managing director, Jonathan Lawani, in a statement in Benin, commended President Bola Tinubu for choosing Mrs Ize-Iyamu.

Mr Lawani also congratulated Mrs Ize-Iyamu on becoming the hospital’s first female CMD, describing the appointment as historic.

He said her accomplishment was not only personal but also a testament to the faith, resilience, and visionary leadership that have defined her distinguished career.

Mr Lawani, a former commissioner for environment and sustainability, added that her success reaffirmed that gender was no barrier to excellence or commitment to public service.

“At BEDC Electricity Plc, we believe leadership transforms communities.

”Her story will inspire professionals to serve with integrity and lead with courage across every sector.

“We celebrate Ize-Iyamu and wish her great success as she begins a new era of medical leadership and excellence at UBTH,” he added.
