For the second time this week, bomb threats forced airlines across Europe to make emergency landings on Thursday for safety reasons.

The bomb threats forced Aer Lingus flight EI402 from Dublin to Rome to land  at Evreux airport in Paris, the Irish airline said in a statement.

Also, Bulgarian officials confirmed that three aircraft made emergency landings in the Balkan country due to the bomb threats.

Authorities also confirmed that aircraft flying from Copenhagen and Madrid made emergency landings in Sofia.

An aircraft from London was also diverted to make an emergency landing in Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second-largest city amid the bomb threats.

At least seven flights, including two from the UK, made emergency landings due to bomb threats earlier in the week.

A UK government spokesperson described the bomb threats as “malicious hoax threats like those we’ve seen today”.
