Oyo State Government on Wednesday in Ibadan announced the appointment of Ayodeji Ayeni as the new Technical Adviser of Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso.

The state’s Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Wasilat Adegoke, in a statement announcing the appointment expressed her enthusiasm about the development.

She said it would go a long way in emphasising the state government’s dedication to repositioning Crown FC, a Nigeria National League side, as a dominant force in Nigerian football.

Ms Adegoke said Mr Ayeni’s experience and expertise would be useful as he would bring new levels of excitement and achievements to the team under his guidance.

She said, “The appointment of Ayeni reflects the state government’s commitment to investing in football development in Oyo State, with a focus on creating a strong and competitive squad that will make the people of the state proud. Ayeni is known for his success in football coaching, and that is why he is entrusted with the responsibility of leading Crown FC to victory in the NNL and beyond.’’

The commissioner charged the new coach to ensure the promotion of Crown FC to the Nigeria Premier Football League in the upcoming season.

In a reaction to the development, Mr Ayeni expressed gratitude to the state government for the appointment.

He promised to work diligently to ensure the team’s success and to make it a source of pride to the state.
