Customs officers’ wives association donates noodles, rice to widows

The Customs Officers Wives Association, Ogun State 1 Command chapter has distributed food items to widows, orphans, vulnerable and less privileged at Idiroko area of the state.
Chairperson of COWA, Grace Ogunnesan, said during the distribution on Saturday in Idiroko, Ogun, that the initiative was to commemorate the International Women’s Day.
She explained that COWA celebrated its members and other women in the community by distributing the items to the beneficiaries.
She listed the items to include rice, noodles and beverages.
“The association commenced the celebration at the command’s headquarters Idiroko, by meeting the Customs Area Controller, Ahmadu Shuaibu and his management team.
The acting chairperson of COWA appreciated the command’s support in securing the items.
Also, Mr Shuaibu, appreciated the visit and commended their charity initiative.
Mr Shuaibu said the gesture was conceived at the appropriate time as it was highly required to cushion the effects of the present economic challenges facing the country.
The comptroller urged them to ensure continuity of their kind gesture.
The beneficiaries of the palliative expressed gratitude to the association for deeming it fit to reach out to them.
Some of them were the wives of late officers who died in active service.
