Five men arraigned over alleged theft of N7 million tricycle
The police on Wednesday arraigned five persons, Akeem Mudashiru, Samad Emiola, Michael Adetola, Tajudeen Gbolahan and Saheed Adebayo, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, over alleged N7 million tricycle theft.
The defendants, Mudashiru, 45; Emiola, 26; Adetola, 22; Gbolahan, 31; and Adebayo, 26, are standing trial on charges bordering on conspiracy and theft, to which they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Olagoke Adegbenro, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on September 18 at the Nitel Oniyanrin area of Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendants stole a tricycle valued at N7 million, belonging to Gamma Mobility Company.
He said the offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Olasinmibo Sanusi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
She ordered that the sureties must be blood relations of the respective defendants and adjourned the case until October 19 for hearing.
