Foremost Capital bags BBB+ rating, grows assets by 250%

Foremost Capital Limited, an asset management firm, has secured the BBB+ rating from DataPro, a leading credit rating agency.
A BBB+ credit rating is a medium, investment-grade score given by major rating agencies.
The rating indicates that a company or government has an adequate ability to pay its debts, but economic downturns could undermine that safety.
A statement by the company in Abuja on Monday said the rating recognised its financial and operational standards.
It said management remained committed to world-class standards across all levels of its business operations.
The company said its assets grew by 250 per cent from July to December 2025.
It said that DataPro’s BBB+ rating provided an independent assessment of its financial strength and operating capacity, a strong liquidity position, supporting its ability to meet financial obligations and manage client investment activities.
It said that the rating demonstrated its growing presence and capacity within the investment management industry and provided a positive indication of the company’s direction and potential for continued improvement.
”This rating by DataPro reflects our improving revenue generation and capacity to generate sustainable earnings.
”On strong governance and risk management assessment parameters, the rating recognises the importance of our governance, risk management, internal control, and compliance structures in supporting sustainable growth.
”This is just as the SEC-licensed asset management entity’s rating reinforces our position as a fully compliant participant in Nigeria’s capital market,” the company said.
The statement quoted its managing director/CEO, Emmanuel Akehomen, as saying that the rating was a significant milestone, validating the company’s robust governance, liquidity, and operational resilience.
Mr Akehomen said the BBB+ rating from DataPro is a significant milestone, validating the company’s robust governance, liquidity, and operational resilience.
“It serves as an independent assurance of our stability and capacity for sustainable growth.
“We intend to leverage this strengthened market credibility to attract high-value mandates and optimise portfolio performance.
”Moving forward, we remain committed to deepening our market share through disciplined risk management and innovative investment strategies that consistently deliver superior, long-term value for our investors,” he said.
DataPro is registered and regulated as a credit rating agency by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Nigeria.
It is also a compliance solutions and data protection compliance organisation.
