Forest security receives 123 complaints in one month in Kano

Mr Umar said the service was doing its best to live up to its mandate of preventing, detecting, and combating crimes

The Nigeria Forest and Security Service (NFSS) says it received 123 complaints in the month of June.

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Forest and Security Service (NFSS) Kano State Command, Usman Umar, disclosed this during an interview on Wednesday in Kano.

Mr Umar said the service was doing its best to live up to its mandate of preventing, detecting, and combating crimes and illegal activities perpetrated in the forests.

“Out of the 123 complaints received, 98 had been treated, while 25 were pending.

“Most of the cases were on animal theft, phone theft, motorcycle theft, kidnapping, robbery, house and shop breaking, receiving of stolen properties among others,’’ he said.

The spokesman said that the service would continue to secure and make forests in the state free from crime zones.
