Gov. Radda’s wife donates uniforms, learning materials to 200 Katsina pupils

The Wife of Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, Zulaihat Radda, has donated uniforms, textbooks, mathematical sets, and sandals to more than 200 pupils in Shinkafi, Modoji and Sabon-Gida communities.
The governor’s wife, during the distribution of the items in Katsina on Friday, also supported 100 women with N10,000 each, to aid their children’s education.
The gesture was through her pet project, ‘Safe Space Humanitarian Initiative (SASHIN) back-to-school campaign.’
According to her, the timely gesture will go a long way to improve the standards of education for the children because education plays a vital role in life.
She said, “Education is indeed a unique tool that can be used to measure the development of any society, state or country at large. Under SASHIN, education is one of the key components. We have done well in the areas of health, women empowerment, assisting the less-privileged, people with disabilities, as well as climate change initiatives.
“What we are witnessing today is a testament of our commitment to ensuring that every child has the necessary tools to study, and also to ensure that we reduce the number of out-of school children across the state.”
She further appealed to the benefiting communities to support the administration of Mr Radda to ensure that children attend both Quranic and conventional schools.
The governor’s wife advised the beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunity, saying “we provided you tools that can help you to facilitate your learning. As future leaders, be good ambassadors of our state, be of good behaviour, respect parents, teachers, leaders, and stay away from drugs and harmful behaviours.”
Mrs Radda also advised mothers that the support given to them was aimed at improving the education of their children, as such, they were expected to utilise the funds judiciously.
Mr Radda’s wife further appealed to them to offer special prayers to the Almighty Allah to bring an end to the security challenges threatening the peace and well-being of people in the state.
Similarly, the governor’s wife also disbursed N1.5 million to patients on admission at the General Amadi Rimi Specialist Hospital, Batagarawa.
According to her, the money disbursement was part of activities marking the 2025 International Charity Day, focusing on spreading global generosity and strengthening community support.
Earlier, the Chairman of Katsina Local Government Area, Isah Miqdad, commended the governor’s wife for supporting the vulnerable pupils.
Represented by the councillor, Shinkafi Ward ‘A,’ Imrana Sa’id, Mr Miqdad stated that such kindness would go a long way in improving school enrolment.
