Govt requires citizens’ support to meet societal needs, says Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde says no government can meet all societal needs alone without the support of individuals and corporate organisations.
Mr Makinde said this at Iseyin during the inauguration of a school building, L.A. Primary School, donated to the state government by Ahmed Raji, president of the Oke-Ogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF).
The governor restated that well-meaning individuals must continue to support education and community development. The facility has classrooms, offices, solar power, desks, chairs and modern learning gadgets.
“This building can stand anywhere in the world. It shows that no government can do everything alone. Those who are blessed must support the education of our children,” Mr Makinde said.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to serving Oyo without bias for political affiliations, stressing that development, not party labels, guides his government. He commended Mr Raji, a renowned legal luminary, for the donation and encouraged him to sustain his philanthropic efforts.
He noted that while governments and political parties come and go, the state remains.
Mr Makinde also highlighted the ongoing industrial development in Iseyin, including the sugar factory near Fasola Farms, which is currently undergoing test runs. According to the state governor, improved road networks have made the project viable and positioned Iseyin for global recognition.
Mr Raji lauded Makinde for his administration’s developmental strides in Iseyin and the wider Oke-Ogun zone. He praised the governor for major infrastructure projects, including the Moniya–Iseyin Road, the Oyo–Iseyin Road, and the Iseyin–Fapote–Ogbomoso Road, as well as the establishment of the Iseyin campus of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.
