Kwara speaker congratulates Tijaniyah leader Akosile on 77th birthday

The speaker of the Kwara House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has felicitated with Sheikh Khaleefah Akoshile, Grand Khalifa of the Tijaniyah movement in Lagos, on his 77th birthday.

Mr Akoshile is also a member of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and the Amirul-Mumini of Oro Kingdom in Kwara.

The felicitation is contained in a statement on Sunday by the chief press secretary to the speaker, Abdulkadir Yusuf.

Mr Danladi-Salihu commended Mr Akoshile for his contributions to the propagation and development of Islamic teachings and ideals, as well as spiritual awakening, particularly as a leader of Tijaniyah.

He described the cleric as a respected Islamic scholar whose commitment to the promotion of peace, unity and spiritual development had continued to inspire many.
