Oyo Terrorists: Makinde declares 16-hour curfew in 10 LGAs bordering old National Park

The curfew begins on Wednesday and will run from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

The Oyo State government has declared a 16-hour curfew in 10 local government areas.

A statement on Tuesday by Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the special adviser on media to Governor Seyi Makinde, citing a memo released by the secretary to the state government, Musibau Babatunde, said the curfew would take effect on Wednesday.

“Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the declaration of a 16-hour curfew in 10 local government areas of the state,” he said.

Mr Olanrewaju said the curfew would run between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., noting that the directive would last for 48 hours in the first instance.

He disclosed that the directive would affect all the local government areas bordering Old Oyo National Park.

The affected local government areas are Oriire (Ikoyi-Ile), Orelope (Igboho), Irepo (Kisi), Saki West (Saki) and Saki East (Ago-Amodu).

Others are Atisbo (Tede/Ago-Are), Itesiwaju (Otu), Iseyin (Iseyin), Olorunsogo (Igbeti) and Atiba (Offa-Meta, Oyo).
