At least three persons were killed and 59 others were injured during Russia’s drone strikes on residential buildings across communities and cities in Ukraine on Friday.

This was disclosed on Saturday by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who noted that more than 200 aerial targets had been shot down since the two countries began the war.

Mr Zelenskyy stated that in Odesa, search and rescue operations were continuing at the site of an apartment building damaged by a Russian missile.

“Thirty-seven people have been injured. The search for two more people who are still missing continues nonstop,” he said, adding that all necessary emergency services were on the scene.

“This morning, the Russians struck a hotel in Chornomorsk, in the Odesa region, with a drone. Eleven people were injured, including six with limited mobility.”

“In the Zaporizhzhia region, two people were killed when a “shahed” struck residential buildings. Six people were injured,” he said.

He noted that there were also casualties following a strike on an enterprise in Zaporizhzhia, saying that in Kryvyi Rih, a missile struck critical infrastructure.

“Three people were injured, and one person was killed. My condolences to all the families and loved ones of the victims.

“Two more people were injured in the Kyiv region. Ten regions came under Russian attack last night, and Russian attack drones are still flying over many of them,” Mr Zelenskyy said.

The president said the Russians struck ordinary gas stations in the Zhytomyr and Rivne regions, as well as a locomotive depot in the Odesa region.

He lamented that the response from the world’s strongest powers did not match the level of Russia’s escalation.
