Nigerian lawmakers say they will investigate the N200 billion spent on the postponed 2023 census by the National Population Commission.
The census, earlier billed for between May 3 and May 7, was postponed due to the federal government’s transition programme.
Mr Jalingo asserted the commission’s preparedness for the 2023 census and said that the NPC had prepared ground for the first-ever digital census in Nigeria.
A staff of the Commission and Comptroller of Chanchaga LGA, Niger State, Sanusi Maigida, had earlier claimed that the NPC server was hacked.
Mr Soludo also directed all the state media channels to develop a message on the census which would be played before and after every news hour.
The reopening was to enable indigenes of Kwara North to apply and participate in the census, NPC director in Kwara said.
Mr Mustapha appealed to all tiers of government to support the National Population Commission (NPC).
Mr Durunguwa said the website for the recruitment would be opened in September for interested applicants.
“This call centre will serve as an information hub for a seamless interface between NPC and the public before, during and after the census exercise.”
