It should concern politicians that winning the party’s ticket is one thing, but more important, having a country in which to contest the election and govern is quite another.
The second-term lawmaker said the party was no longer a welcoming environment for him.
Mr Madagali said the move was aimed at uniting members and strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mr Ododo has pledged the Kogi government’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, officially designating the campaign as his own “personal project”.
He was unanimously adopted by delegates from the 21 local government areas of the state.
He urged Nigerians not to be deterred by the security and economic challenges in the country.
“I remain fully in the race for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress and have neither withdrawn my aspiration nor endorsed any aspirant,” Mr Oloriegbe said.
Mr Okowa polled 113,309 votes in the exercise.
Mr Omale said the party had made adequate arrangements for logistics and security.
The APC chairman also cautioned aspirants to prevail on their supporters to avoid actions capable of causing unrest during the primaries.
