According to him, politicians sometimes exploit security to intimidate voters for selfish ends.
He said most Nigerians remained detached from governance and rarely demanded accountability until crises directly affected them.
Ms Dafwat emphasised the need for visible empathy, responsive governance, and opportunities for citizens to live with dignity.
“The latest incident happened on January 11 in Maradun local government area of Zamfara, in which 15 persons were reportedly killed,” said the group.
Yiaga Africa, a civil society organisation, has decried the low turnout of voters in the just-concluded gubernatorial election in Ondo.
Mr Lawal said that CODE would deploy observers in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo and establish a situation room hub in Kogi for the Nov.11 poll.
