Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, on Monday said Washington’s “excessive demands” led to the collapse of recent peace negotiations in Pakistan, Iranian media reported.

Mr Araghchi emphasised that Iran would not be forced into negotiations, saying, “There will be no direct negotiations between us and the United States.”
“But if the Zionist regime takes retaliatory action, our response will be even tougher,” the minister said, referring to possible Israeli retaliation.
