Mr Bello-Barkindo said the meeting was to iron out thorny issues surrounding their states’ security votes towards establishing a better option of managing the funds.
“Issuing the invitation, the Nigeria Governors Forum Director General, Mr Asishana Bayo Okauru, said the agenda is on the recent CBN policy of redesigning the naira notes.”
The governors alleged that the nonchalance of the regime further plunged Nigerians into poverty.
Mr Fayemi is expected to formally hand over the chairmanship of the NGF to Tambuwal on October 16.
The governors said they would tell themselves the truth about Nigerians’ economic sufferings.
The Ekiti governor wondered if the entire crime was the handwork of some enemies of the state government or its governor.
The NGF called for NLC partnership “to confront the challenges “of what the NNPC is about because there is a lot of fraud in the consumption and distribution figures.”
The governors said even they were surprised by the news of the disbursement.
Nigeria’s 36 governors will meet on Wednesday to discuss the controversial financial autonomy to judicial and legislative arms in states.
“You can’t impose a federal salary structure on states because we do not all have the same economic or financial situations.”
