The gunmen were said to have appeared in camouflage and invaded a popular farm in the village which had more than 200 workers.
“She stated that as an intimate friend to the suspect’s girlfriend, she had no reason to suspect any foul play, hence she followed him.
The suspect offered the police officers who arrested him a N1 million bribe, which was rejected, police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi said.
The woman confessed that she sold the baby to someone in Lagos for N600,000 during interrogation.
An officer of the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Popoola Olasupo, was on Sunday abducted at Fidiwo axis on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
He added that the arrest followed a report lodged at Ago Iwoye Divisional Headquarters by the 62-year-old landlady of the house, Adejoke Salau.
The police spokesman said the investigation led the team to the suspect’s hideout, where he was arrested.
She stated further that her father had been sleeping with her since February 2022 with a threat to kill her if she informed anybody about it.
The police command in Ogun on Tuesday said it arrested a 33-year-old woman, Ifeoma Ossai, for killing her 50-year-old landlord in Sango-Ota.
Mr Oyeyemi gave the suspects’ names as Oshole Fayemi, 60; Oseni Adesanya, 39; Ismaila Seidu, 30; Oseni Oluwasegun, 69; and Lawal Olaiya, 50.
